COOKIES - Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp cloves
  • 2 tsp ginger

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar together. Beat in eggs. Add molasses and sifted dry ingredients.

Roll into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake in moderate over at 375° for 9 - 12 minutes. (The longer they are cooked, the "crispier" they are!!)
