Ingredients
- 2/3 cup (13 tablespoons) butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 1-ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspooon salt
- 1 1/4 cups ice water
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy (5 minutes on high), scaping bowl occassionally to guide batter into beaters.
Blend in cooled, melted chocolate.
Combine flour, soda, and salt.
Alternately add dry, combined ingredients and ice water to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
Pour into greased and floured round pans or rectangular pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
