BBQ a la Brendel

Great on potato rolls with yellow mustard and hamburger dill pickle slices.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. boneless chuck
  • 2 T shortening
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 T vinegar
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 3 T worchestershire
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 1 T yellow mustard (I use at least 3 T)
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Trim meat and brown in shortening. Add remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low.

After 2-3 hours, shred meat with fork.
