Ingredients
- frosting:
- 2 cups flour, sifted
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
- 3 tbsp cocoa
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 pound (4 cups) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour and sugar into mixing bowl and mix well. In saucepan, bring the margarine, shortening, water, and cocoa to a rapid boil. Pour over flour-sugar mixture and mix well. Combine remaining ingredients and add all at once to batter, mixing well. Pour into greased, lightly floured 13x9 pan and bake at 400* degrees for 35-40 minutes or until it tests done. Let cool 10-15 minutes while preparing frosting.
frosting:
Combine margarine, cocoa, and milk into saucepan; heat slowly and bring to a boil. Add remaining ingredients, beat well and spread over cake while it is still warm. Leave cake in pan until ready to serve. You can add 2/3 cups chopped pecans to frosting.
