Classic Bread Pudding
yummy... the way Mom used to make it !
- 1 (16 oz) day-old French bread (cubed)
- 2 (12 oz can) evaporated milk
- 4 eggs (slightly beaten)
- 2 apples, (peeled, cored & cubed)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup pecan (chopped)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup water
- Caramel Sauce
Preparation time 30mins
Cooking time 65mins
Preheat 350 degrees - Bake 35 minutes
Grease 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish
Stir together bread cubes, milk and 3/4 cup water in large bowl; stir in eggs blending well. Stir in apples and remaining ingredients except for cinnamon and caramel sauce. Blend well. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake until set. To serve, drizzle with caramel sauce.
