Peanut Blossoms

Ingredients

  • 48 Hershey kisses, unwrapped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Beat both the Crisco and the peanut butter until well blended. Add both sugars and beat until fluffy.

Add the egg, milk and vanilla, beat well.

In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add this to the peanut butter mixture.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll the balls in granulated sugar until they are completely covered. Place the sugar-covered cookies on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and IMMEDIATELY press a Hershey kiss into the center of each cookie.

Leave the cookies on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes before removing to a cooling screen.
