Gay's Wild Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups wild rice
  • 1 Tablespoon
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoon butter
  • 4 ounces market bacon cut across bacon into 1/4 inch pcs.
  • 1/2 cup white rice
  • 2/3 cup onion chopped
  • 2/3 cup musnrooms chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon freahly ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cook rices separately until done. Do not overcook. It needs to be crunchy. In a large skillet, melt butter and bacon. Drain on paper towels. Add onion to the skillet, cook 3-4 minutes and add mushrooms for a few minutes. Pour rice in with the mixture, toss and put in casserole. Optional- add a little sour cream, lime juice and nutmeg just before serving.
