Ingredients
- 1 lb crisco( 2 cups)-room temp
- 1 lb sugar( 2 1/4 cups)
- 3 eggs-room temp
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp anise
- 8-9 cups sifted flour
- tbsp baking ammonia
Preparation
Step 1
crisco mixing, add sugar , gradually with eggs, add anise.
heat milk to hot. add baking ammonia to hot milk, rises like alka seltzer, stir until ammonia melted, add to bowl with shortening, add flour( 1 cup at a time)
bake 350 slightly brown
