Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 4 oz Butter (room temperature)
  • 4 1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 1/4 oz Salt
  • 8 Large Eggs
  • 4 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 3/4 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 3 Tsp pure Vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease pans.

Cream butter and sugar (with paddle) on medium until light in color & texture.
Add eggs (2 at a time) mixing well after each addition. Add Vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients and alternate with milk, starting and ending with dry. Only mix enough to incorporate each addition.
(whipped eggs will make mixture lighter)
