    ounces cream cheese (softened)

  • ½

    cup butter-flavored shortening

  • cup sifted icing sugar

  • 2

    cup flour

  • 2

    (10 oz) jar maraschino cherries (drained)


Preheat 375 degree - Bake 7 - 10 minutes In a bowl stir together shortening and cream cheese until blended. Stir in flour. If the dough seems too fry you can add a spoonful of water. Cover and chill several hours or overnight. Place dough onto a dusted icing sugar board. Roll to 1/8th thick and cut into strips 1 x 4. Place cherry at one end and roll. Place on cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake 7 - 10 minutes or until golden. Once baked roll into confectioner sugar.
