Ingredients

  • Double 9" pie crust
  • 6 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 425º.

Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and lemon juice in large bowl. Spoon into prepared crust. Place second crust on top. Trim 1/2" beyond edge. Fold top crust under bottom edge to seal. Crimp and flute edges. Cut slits in top or prick with fork.

Bake 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
