Ingredients
- 3 pkg. chocolate chips
- 2 1/4 cups sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp. orange extract
- 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 1/2 lbs. white chocolate candy coating, melted
- 3/4 lb. dark chocolate candy coating, melted
- crushed peppermint candies
- paste food coloring (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt one package of chips. Add 3/4 cup of the milk, mix well. Stir in the orange extract. Repeat the above with the peppermint extract added to one portion and the almond extract added to another portion. Cover and chill for 45 minutes or until firm enough to shape into 1 inch balls. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Chill for 1 to 2 hours or until very firm.
Dip the orange-flavored truffles into white candy coating, place on waxed paper to harden. Dip the peppermint flavored truffles in the dark candy coating, then sprinkle with the peppermint candy. Dip the almond-flavored truffles in the dark chocolate, then sprinkle with almonds or coconut.
If desired, tint the white chocolate with the food coloringa; drizzle over truffles.
