Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups unsifted flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/4 milk

- 1 cup margarine
- 1 pound confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- tint pink with red food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
preheat oven to 350. grease 2 (9 x 1 1/2 inch) round cake pans. line with rounds of waxed paper, grease paper. in small bowl stir together flour, baking powder and salt. in large bowl with mixer at medium speed; beat margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. beat at high speed 5 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. reduce speed to low. beat in flour mixture alternately with milk until well blended. pour into prepared pans.
bake 30-35 minutes, cool in pans 10 minutes. remove, peel off wax paper.
fill and frost layers with frosting

frosting;
in a large bowl, add 1 cup margarine, mix at medium speed until softened. add 1 pound confectioners sugar, sifted and 1 tsp vanilla until well blended and smooth. tint pink with red food coloring. makes about 3 cups.
