Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 c. flour
- 3 cups chicken broth (warmed)
- 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
- 1 t. sugar
- 1 t. basil
- 1/2 c. whipping cream (or half & half)
- salt & pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in saucepan over med high heat. Add onion & garlic and saute 5 min. Stir in flour & cook stirring constantly for 2 min. Add warm chicken broth, tomatoes, sugar, basil, salt & pepper. Bring to boil, lower heat, cover & cook 10 min. stirring occasionally. Add cream & heat through. (When you add cream you can use your hand blender). Yummy!!!!! You can sprinkle Asiago cheese on top if you want!
