Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Icing:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tablespoon cocoa
  • 6 teaspoons milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°.

Grease and flour a 10 X 15 X 1 metal pan.

Combine first three ingredients in small pot, bring to a boil and remove from heat.

Pour hot liquid into a large mixing bowl. Add next four ingredients and mix well. Beat in 2 eggs. Beat in sour cream. Pour into pan and bake for 22 minutes.

Icing:
Combine first three ingredients in small pot, bring to boil and remove from heat.

Pour hot liquid into small mixing bowl. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Ice cake while still warm.
