c. Fruit and Nut Christmas Cookies

Great for Church Take-out Teas.

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cup flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup mixed fruit
• 1/2 cup nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together all dry ingredients.

Cream butter, sugar, shortening, eggs, vanilla.
Stir in flour mixture. Mix Well.
Add fruit and nuts.

Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch rolls.
Chill 3 hours or overnight.

Cut into 1/2 inch slices.
Bake 350 degrees 8-10 minutes
