Chocolate Pound Cake

Can be iced but we like it plain.
This cake is moist. The key is lots of mixing to get all air bubbles out.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 # butter
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 3 c sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbs cocoa
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 tbs vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, shortening and eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla last. Cook in a greased and floured tube pan at 325* for 80 minutes.
