Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 Chicken cut into pieces or use Stew Beef
- 1 cup chicken stock or 2 bullion cubes in 1 cup boiling water.
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 cup water
- 2 1/2 cups flour
Preparation
Step 1
Heat butter and saute onion...add paprika, salt and pepper. Brown chicken on all sides. Add chicken broth, cover and simmer about 1 hour. If using stew beef cook for about 2 1/2 hours Remove meat to serving platter and keep hot. Stir in sour cream and then add back the meat.
SPATZLEINS....Beat egg thoughtly Add water and beat until well blended with egg. Add flour and beat until smooth and glassy looking. Bring salted water to a boil and then drop from a teaspoon into the water to form the spatzleins. They will come to the top when done.
