Ingredients

  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 pound ground round
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (15-oz) can no-salt-added kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can no-salt-added stewed tomatoes
  • 2 (8-oz) cans no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 ½ tsps chili powder
  • 1 ½ tsps ground cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ to ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 7 Tbsps nonfat sour cream
  • Sliced green onions (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Coat a large saucepan with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot. 
Add meat, onion, and garlic, and cook until the meat is browned, stirring to crumble.
Drain well and return mixture to pan.

Add beans and next 8 ingredients. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with sour cream. Garnish with sliced onions, if desired.
