Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup buttermilk*
- or *use 1/4 cup Bulk Barn Buttermilk Powder and 2/3 cup water
Preparation
Step 1
Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda to a bowl, cut in shortening.
Stir in the buttermilk. (if using buttermilk powder, add the powder to the flour mixture)
Knead lightly 20 to 25 times.
Roll to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with cutter.
Bake 450⁰F for 10 to 12 minutes.
