buttermilk pound cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 375. grease and flour a loaf pan.

cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. add eggs, one at a time. add lemon juice and vanilla, blend well.

sift together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. beat well after each addition.

pour into prepared pan, bake 20-25 minutes.
