Ingredients
- 2 baking apples, cored
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water

Step 1
Heat oven to 350⁰F
Prepare apples, core then using a sharp knife, score skin 1/4 in deep in eatable pieces.
Stir together the sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg in a small bowl.
Put apples in a 9 inch glass baking dish, spoon in sugar mixture into apple cavities.
Sprinkle lemon juice to moisten the sugar. Pour the water into the bottom of the dish.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until apples are tender, but still firm.
Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes more.
