Ingredients
- 1 cup grape nuts
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs or 1/2 cup egg substitute
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
soak grapenuts in buttermilk for 10 minutes. beat sugar and eggs together in a large bowl. add milk/ grape nuts mixture and vanilla.
sift flour with salt, soda and powder and stir throughly into the grape nuts mixture. add chocolate chips and mix well.
poour into 2 non-stick sprayed 9 x 5 loaf pans and bake 350 for about 45 minutes.
makes 2 loaves.
