Ingredients
- In double boiler over boiling water, put:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cups fresh orange juice
- 1- 1/2 t. orange rind
- 2 1/4 cups (fresh) Swan's Down Cake Flour
- 2 1/4 t. baking powder
- 3/8 t. salt
- Icing
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- Beat with rotary beater for 7 minutes, remove from heat and
- add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until cool.

Sift flour separately, then sift agaín with the bakíng powder, and salt
Cream butter, suçar, and orange rínd together
add eggs in deep well, mixing well to the butter/sugar add the flour mixture, alternatíng with orange juice, starting and ending with flour
grease and flour two 9 inch round pans - - pour ín batter and bake for 25 minutes at 350".
