Beer-Braised Brats

Ingredients

  • 10- 12 uncooked bratwurst (I like Johnsonville)
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 large onion, cut in thin slices
  • 1 12 oz dark beer ie Guinness
  • 2 T packed brown sugar
  • 1 t dried thyme
  • 1 t Worcestershire sauce
  • Buns

Preparation

Step 1

Grill brats on low heat, watch for flames, until brats a browned but not burnt. (maybe 15-20 min.)
In heavy covered pot, brown onions in butter.
Add rest of ingredients.
Put brats in beer mixture and keep on warm until serving time.
