Braised Cabbage

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • S&P
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Splash of red wine vinegar
  • Splash of chicken broth


Servings 4


Step 1

Toast 1 tsp fennel seeds in a skillet with 1 tbs oil for 1 minute. Add 1 head thinly sliced cabbbage in batches, season with S&P and stir til wilted. Ad a pinch of sugar and a splash each of red wine vinegar & chicken broth. Partially cover and simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is soft, about 30 minutes.Toss with 2 tbs butter & handful of chopped parsley.
