Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 lb. beef stew meat cut in 1 inch pieces
- shortening or oil
- 6 cups beef broth
- 3 pared medium potatoes cut in 1 inch pieces
- 4 carrots cut in 1 inch pieces
- 1 green pepper cut into strips
- 1/2 cup onion diced
- 1 tbsp. salt
- beef bullion cubes
- 1 bay leaf

Preparation
Step 1
Min flour, salt and pepper and coat meat. Melt shortening in large skillet and brown meat thoroughly.
In large pot, add beef broth and meat. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients, simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
If desired, thicken stew. In covered jar, shake 1 cup cold water and 2 - 4 tablespoons flour until well blended. Stir into stew, heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
