All Bran Icebox Rolls (Granny)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All Bran cereal
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 7 cups flour
  • 2 pkg or 4 1/2 tsp of yeast dissolved in 1 cup lukewarm water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine cereal, shortening, salt and sugar. Add 2 cups hot water and when shortening is melted and mixture is lukewarm, add eggs and yeast/water. Stir well and add flour one cup at a time. Beat and stir well. Cover with a damp cloth and refrigerate 2 hours before using. Shape rolls and place on buttered pan. Brush tops with butter and let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake 350 degrees about 20 minutes.
