Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Combine sugar, egg whites (room temperature), syrup and cream of tartar in top of a large double boiler. Add water and beat at low speed of electric mixer for 30 seconds.
Place over rapidly boiling water; beat constantly at high speed of electric mixer for 7 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; beat 2-3 minutes or until frosting is thick enough to spread.
