Southern "Fried" Okra

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. fresh okra
  • 2 egg whites

Preparation

Step 1

1. Take fresh washed okra pods and cut then into 1/4 inch slices
2. Whip an egg white and frothy.
3. Dip each slice of okra into the egg white and place on a lightly sprayed (with Pan) cookie sheet. do not overlap.
4. Bake in the oven at 450 degree for about 15 minutes, then turn the oven to broil and watch carefully to keep them from getting too brown - about five more mintues. You want them to be brown but no burned.
