Ingredients
- Prawns, shell and tail on
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 to 3 tbsp. barbecue sauce
- 1 bay leaf, crumbled
- garlic powder to taste (or 1 crushed clove)
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. crushed dried red pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Butterfly prawns by cutting shells lengthwise down back. Do not remove shell.
Mix remaining ingredients together in bowl. In a large frypan, melt 1/4 cup butter. Add prawns and saute for 3 or 4 minutes until prawns turn pink. Turn. Add sauce. Simmer over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and let stand a couple of minutes. Spoon into serving dish. Serve with lots of napkins.
