Ingredients
- 2 lbs finely ground beef
- 1 qt water
- 1 tbsp salt (I half this)
- 4 small onions finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp vinegar
- 4 tsp chili powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 (6 0z) can tomato paste
- 2 crushed red pepper (you can add less)
- 4 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp allspice
- 5 medium bay leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Add beef to water in 4 quart covered pot. Stir to separate to fine texture. Add other ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer slowly for 2 hrs, uncovered. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
Serve over spagetti, with finely chopped onion and shredded cheese or for coney Islands over hot dogs in buns.
Yeilds 3-4 cups.
