Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 2 stalks Celery (chopped)
  • 1/2 c. Onion (chopped)
  • 1-1/2 lbs. lean Ground Beef (or 1 lb. lean ground
  • beef and 1/2 lb. ground pork)
  • 3/4 c. Oats (quick or old fashioned)
  • 1/4 c. Chili Sauce or Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 large Egg (beaten)
  • 3 Tbsp. Water or Milk

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped celery and onion; cook, stirring, until tender, about 7-9 minutes.

In a large bowl, mix ground beef, oats, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, egg, celery and onion mixture and water.

In a 9x13" baking pan, shape meat into a 9x5" loaf. Bake at 375° for 1 hour.
