Ingredients
- Glaze:
- Vegetable spray for the pan
- Flour to dust the pan
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
- 1 (18.25 oz) plain yellow cake mix
- 1 (3.4 oz) vanilla instant pudding
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 8 tablespoon melted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 tablespoonsbutter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup water
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Lightly spray a 12-cup bundt pan and dust with flour.
Shake out excess flour.
3. Put the raisins, bourbon and orange zest in a small
pan and heat to warm over low heat. Do not boil. Set
pan aside.
4.In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix,
buttermilk, butter, eggs and vanilla. Blend on low
speed with an electric mixer for 1 minute. Scrape
down the sides of the bowl.
5. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat for 2
minutes more. Batter should look thick and smooth
6. Pour into pan.
7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until cake is golden brown
and springs back when lightly pressed with a finger.
8. Cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes.
9. Run a long knife along the edge of the cake and
invert on a serving plate.
Glaze:
1. Combine butter, brown sugar, bourbon and water in
a small pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil,
stirring. Boil for 3 minutes.
2. Poke holes in the top of the cake with a skewer or
chopstick.
3. Spoon the glaze over the top of the cake, letting it
soak into the holes and drizzle down the sides and
into the center of the cake.
