Ingredients

  • 1 32 ounce bag of tator tots
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 lb of ham
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 3 cups shredded chedder cheese

Step 1

preheat oven to 425. Place the tator tots in a cassarole dish and bake for 15 minutes. Turn the tator tots and bake an addtional 15 minutes. reduce the oven temperature to 375. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, add the onion, salt, pepper, and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Incorperate the ham and cook for 2 minutes. Add the flour and cook for 2 minutes. Pour in the milk and and bring to a boil, stiring frequently. Cook for 2 more minutes or until sauce is thickened. Then add 2 cups of the cheese. Pour the mixture over the tator tots and sprinkle with the remaining cup of cheese. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes.
