Ingredients
- Pastry for 2 crust pie
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon candies
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 to 5 cups peeled sliced thin apples

Step 1
Roll half of pastry and fit into 9" pie pan. Combine sugar, flour, and salt. Spread half over pastry in pie pan. Put in apples, sprinkle cinnamon candies and remaining sugar mixture over top. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Dot with butter. Roll pastry for top. Cut gashes for steam to escape. Moisten edges of under crust with water. Put top crust and then make fluted rim. Bake on lower shelf in hot oven at 425 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
