Chocolate Revel Bars

One of Grandma Ida's favorite recipes. She would put these in the freezer in an attempt not to eat them as fast. She discovered she liked them frozen better!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 3 scant cups quick oats
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla.

Sift flour, soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.

Stir in oats, mixing well.

Spread 2/3 oat mixture in greased 9x13 pan (I use a 11x15 sheet pan), saving 1/3 for topping.

Melt:
In microwave on high for 1 ½ minutes or until smooth.

1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Add:
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Spread on pan. Sprinkle remaining dough on top of fudge.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
