Desserts - Rum Cake

Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1 package yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines preferred without pudding mix)
  • 1 package instant pudding mix; 4 eggs; 1/2 cup water; 1 cup chopped nuts; 1/2 cup vegetable oil; 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 1/4 lb. Butter; 1 cup sugar; 1/4 cup water; 1/4 cup dark rum

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:

Mix all ingredients, except nuts, in large bowl. Beat well. Flour and grease tube or bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts n bottom of pan. Pour batter over nuts. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.

Topping:

Mix butter, water and sugar. Boil for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add rum. DO NOT BOIL!! With long pronged fork, make holes in cake. Very slowly, pour glaze over cake.
