Desserts - Traditional Candied Pecans

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of pecan halves

Preparation

Step 1

Line baking skeet with foil. Butter foil. Set baking sheet aside.

In heavy 10-inch skillet, melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat; stir in 1/2 cup sugar. Add 1 1/2 cups of pecan halves. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, 4 to 5 miknutes or until sugar melts and turns rich, golden brown.

Remove skillet from heat. Spread pecan mixture onto prepared baking sheet.

Cool completely. Break pecan mixture into small pieces.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
