Easy to make chocolate cake with a gooey caramel center, very rich

Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 pkg(18.25 oz) German Chocolate cake mix
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- Filling:
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 bag caramels
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1/2 cup lightly salted peanuts, coarsely chopped
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan
Cake:
1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions
2. Put half the batter into pan and bake for 20 minutes
3. Reduce oven temp to 250 degrees
Filling:
1. In a medium pan over low heat melt caramels, butter
and milk
2. Pour evenly over baked cake mix.
3. Sprinkle chocolate chips and peanuts over caramel.
4. Spread rest of cake mix on top; bake at 250 for 20
minutes
5. Increase oven temp to 350 and bake for 10 minutes
6. Sprinkle rest of chocolate chips on baked cake
7. Spread chips as they melt.
