Ingredients
- 4 cups milk, 4 eggs, 1 1/4 cups sugar, 1/3 cup cornstarch, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, 2 tablespoons vanilla extract.
Preparation
Step 1
In a large heavy sauce pan, bring milk to a boil. Meanwhile beat eggs; add sugar; cornstarch and salt. Mix well. Gradually add small amount of hot milk; return all to saucepan. Cook and stir constantly for 6-8 minutes or until mixture thickens and coats a spoon. Gradually stir in condensed milk and vanilla. Mix well. Chill for 3-4 hours. Pour into ice cream freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer’s directions. Yield: Approximately 1 ½ quarts.
