Florida Hush Puppies

So the story goes, hunters used to feed corn patties to their dogs to keep them quiet-thus the name Hush Puppies

Ingredients

• 1 cup Bisquick
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg
• 3/4 cup milk
• Oil to fry

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oil (1 inch deep) to 375
2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
3. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into hot oil.
4. Fry about 2 minutes on each side or until brown.
5. Drain and serve immediately
