Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Shortening
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3 cups Oats
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 350 degrees; coat cookie sheet with cooking spray.
Beat until creamy:
3/4 cup Shortening
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup Water
1 tsp Vanilla
Add:
3 cups Oats
1 cup Flour
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Mix well.
Optional: add in chopped Walnuts, coconut flakes, chocolate chips and/or raisins. About 1/2-3/4 cup each.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
