Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups cornmeal
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cups boiling water
Preparation
Step 1
Combine dry ingredients. Add chopped onion and beaten egg. Pour boiling water over this mixture, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth. Add more water as necessary. Drop by spoonfuls into deep, hot fat.
