French Style Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 (1 lb.) cans French style green beans
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1.4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups crushed corn flakes
  • 1 tbsp. melted butter

Preparation

Step 1

Drain green beans. Melt 2 tablespoons butter and add flour, salt, pepper, sugar, sour cream and onion. Fold the beans into above mixture. Spread in a 2-quart buttered casserole. Sprinkle top with cheese and finally top with buttered crushed corn flakes. Bake in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.
