Wanda's Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 t garlic
  • 4 rounded T brown sugar
  • 1 T basil
  • 2 T parsley flakes
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 1/2 T salt
  • 4 C tomatoes (canned)
  • 2 3/4 C tomato paste
  • 2 small cans of sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 envelope of onion soup mix (optional)
  • 1 pkg oven ready lasagne noodles
  • 6 C cream style cottage cheese
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 t pepper
  • 1 T salt
  • 1/4 C parsley flakes
  • 1 C grated parmesan
  • 2 lb thinly sliced Mozzarella

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375

Brown meat slowly, drain fat. Add next 8 ingredients and the optional mushrooms and soup mix. Simmer uncovered about 30 mins stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, combine cottage cheese, eggs, seasonings and parmesan.

Makes 2 pans, following instructions is for 1 pan!!

Place 1/2 noodles in a 13x9 pan. Spread 1/2 cottage cheese mix over, add 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 meat sauce. Repeat layers.

Bake for 30 mins, sprinkle with parmesan. let stand 10-15 mins before cutting into squares so filling will set.
