TUNA AND APPLE MELT

Smothered in cheese and serve open faced, these are sure to be a favorite Saturday lunch.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. can of flaked tuna, drained
  • 1 small cooking apple (such as McIntosh) with peeel, diced (about 1-1/3 cups
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp salad dressing
  • 2 tsp liquid honey
  • 4 bread slices (or 2 bagels cut in half) toasted
  • 4 Process cheese slices

Preparation

Step 1

Combine frist 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Toss until well coated. Makes 2 cups tuna mixture.

Spoon about 1/2 cup tuna mixture over each toast slice. Top each with 1 cheese slice. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Broil until cheese is melted.

VARIATION: Add 1 tbsp finely chopped onion and 1 tbsp finely chopped celery to tuna mixture. Stir
