Shrimp with Rum Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon style mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine rum, sugar, butter, mustard, vinegar, cinnamon, and cloves in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, simmer until thick and syrupy. Add salt and pepper.
2. Brush grill with oil. Put shrimp on skewers.
3. Baste shrimp with sauce about 20 min.
4. Place skewers on grill approximately 2 to 4 min., turning once.
