Ingredients

  • cup flour

  • cup sugar

  • 1

    cup black strap molasses

  • ½

    cup vegetable oil

  • 1

    egg

  • ¾

    cup hot water

  • 1

    tsp soda

  • 1

    tsp ginger

  • 1

    tsp cinnamon

  • ¾

    tsp salt

Directions

Pre heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x9x2 inch pan. Mix all ingredients into large bowl. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed. Scrape bowl occassionally. Pour intopan and bake 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm and if desired with whipped cream or applesauce
