German Potato Balls
- KLOESSE (German potato balls)
- 6 lbs potatoes
- Cheese cloth
- Smoked sausage
- 1 lb bacon
- 2 Tablespoons salt
Use a grater to finely grate potatoes (not in cuisinart). Put grated potatoes in cheese cloth and squeeze as much fluid as possible. Form small balls and fill half with chunks of sausage, the others remain plain.
Boil salted water and add potato balls.
Cook balls for 20 minutes or until they float.
Sauce: Fry bacon. Drizzle oil and cut up bacon over potato balls.
